NEWPORT BEACH QUALIFIES FOR WESTERN CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL:  The Newport Beach Breakers advanced to the Western Conference Championship match with a 21-20 Supertiebreaker win over the Sacramento Capitals on Sunday night in Newport Beach, Calif.  With the win, the Breakers qualify for the Advanta WTT Western Conference Championship where they will face the top-seeded Springfield Lasers on July 24 in Springfield, Mo.  Reigning Male MVP Ramon Delgado led Newport Beach to the win, defeating Sam Warburg 5-4 in men’s singles to send the match into Overtime.  Delgado won the first game in Overtime to tie the score at 20-20 and set up a Supertiebreaker.  Delgado closed out the comeback victory 7-3 in the Supertiebreaker.

NEW YORK SPORTIMES CLINCH TOP SEED IN EASTERN CONFERENCE:  With their 25-10 win this afternoon over the New York Buzz, the New York Sportimes clinched the top seed in the Eastern Conference and the right to host the WTT Eastern Conference Championship on July 24.  Last week the Springfield Lasers locked up the top seed in the Western Conference.  Newport Beach will face off against the Lasers in Springfield, while the opponent for the Sportimes will be determined this week as the World TeamTennis regular season finishes on July 22.  The winners of the Conference Championship matches advance to the Advanta WTT Finals on Sunday, July 26 at Kastles Stadium in Washington, D.C.
